Two details separate this board from a standard glue trap, and both are aimed at the person hanging it rather than at the fly.
The string is already attached. No thumbtack, no pin, no scissors. The board hangs from a curtain rail, a hook, a nail, a branch or a shelf bracket. In a retail context this removes the most common reason a customer returns the product unused: no way to hang it.
The film comes off in one pull. A double-sided board normally has two separate release sheets, and the second one is often left on by mistake. A single-pull film covers both faces and comes away in one movement. The user does not touch the adhesive during installation.
Neither detail changes what the board catches. Both reduce the chance that it is installed incorrectly or not installed at all.
Flat Board and Ribbon Strip Are Different Products
A Yellow Hanging Fly Glue Trap Board and a hanging ribbon strip both catch flies, but they suit different buyers and different positions.
· Flat board. A defined adhesive area on a stiff card. It hangs flat against a wall, a window or a shelf edge, and it is the format most retail customers expect. The 15 × 20 cm board covers a compact area and is easy to place in a kitchen, a garage or a garden shed.
· Ribbon strip. A long narrow paper strip, hung from a beam in an open space. It exposes more total adhesive area over its length and is used in barns, warehouses and waste rooms where the fly load is high and the ceiling is open.
A buyer sourcing for household retail channels usually wants the flat board. A buyer sourcing for agricultural or facility supply usually wants the ribbon. Stocking both in the same catalogue is common; treating them as interchangeable is not.
Where the Board Is Used
The flat board with pre-attached string is a consumer and light-commercial format. Typical positions:
· Kitchens and utility rooms, hung near a window or a bin
· Garages, sheds and basements, hung from a rafter or a shelf bracket
· Garden patios and balconies, hung from a branch or a rail under cover
· Camping and caravan use, hung from an awning or a tent frame
· Small offices and retail back rooms, hung near an entrance or a waste bin
· Restaurant back-of-house areas, hung away from open food and prep surfaces
It is not the right format for a barn with a heavy fly load, a waste transfer station or a food processing hall. In those positions the flat board saturates quickly and the ribbon or a larger trap is the correct choice.
What Shortens the 60-Day Figure
The 60-day field life applies to a clean, indoor, still-air position. Several conditions reduce it, and each is visible during a routine check.
· Dust. A visible film on the yellow surface reduces tack before the board is full. In a garage, a workshop or a dusty store room, expect 3 to 4 weeks rather than 8.
· Heat. Direct sun through a window or a position near a heater softens the adhesive and lets larger insects pull free.
· Moisture. The board is water-resistant, not waterproof. In a damp basement or an open patio exposed to rain, the paper softens and the board should be replaced earlier.
· Saturation. A board covered in insects cannot catch more. Leaving it hanging gives a false impression that the problem has ended.
Replace when the board is visibly loaded, when the surface no longer feels tacky through a gloved finger, or at the end of the label period, whichever comes first.
Household and Pet Safety Notes
The board contains no pesticide active ingredient. Capture is mechanical. That does not remove every risk in a home.
· Hang the board out of the reach of children and pets. The adhesive is difficult to remove from fur, hair and fabric.
· Do not hang the board directly over a food preparation surface, a dining table or a pet feeding area. A board that falls is a cleanup problem even though the adhesive is not toxic.
· In a home with a cat, avoid hanging the board at a height the cat can reach with a paw. A cat that touches the board will pull it down and spread the adhesive.
· Dispose of a used board by wrapping it in newspaper or a sealed bag before placing it in general waste. Do not place it in a recycling stream.
Retail Channel Notes
The blister card with a hang hole is designed for pegboard, shelf-edge strip and e-commerce listing images. A few points matter to retail buyers.
· The 4-piece card is the standard retail unit; 1-piece and 8-piece cards are available for different price points.
· The hang hole is centered so the card sits level on a peg.
· Card print can carry multilingual text for EU, North American and Australian markets.
· The 0.045 CBM carton is sized for mixed pallet loads and for marketplace inbound requirements.
· Product images and lifestyle photography can be supplied to distributors for their own listings.
The category is seasonal in many markets, with demand rising in spring and summer. Distributors typically place one large order before the season and a smaller replenishment order mid-season.

Buyer Questions
Is the brand on the specification table GOLDEN-CAT or JM?
The product is supplied under the GOLDEN-CAT brand. The specification table in some older catalogue versions lists JM, which is a separate label. Confirm the brand on the artwork before printing a blister card, because the two names cannot be used on the same pack.
What is the difference between this board and a hanging ribbon strip?
The flat board is a compact adhesive area on a stiff card, suited to kitchens, garages and retail shelves. The ribbon strip is a long paper strip for barns and warehouses with a heavy fly load. They are different formats for different buyers, not two versions of the same product.
Can the single-pull film be removed if the board is already hanging?
It can, but the film is easier to remove before hanging. Hang the board first, then pull the film downward in one movement. Pulling it while the board is loose risks the adhesive folding onto itself.
Does the board work outdoors?
In a covered position such as a patio, a balcony or under an awning, yes, with a shorter field life. Direct rain softens the paper and direct sun softens the adhesive. It is not designed for open outdoor use.
Why does the card say 60 days but the board stops catching sooner?
The 60-day figure assumes a clean, indoor, still-air position. Dust, heat, moisture and saturation each shorten the effective period. Check the surface before assuming the product has failed. In a dusty workshop or a sunny window, 3 to 4 weeks is a normal replacement cycle.
Is RoHS relevant to this product?
No. RoHS applies to electrical and electronic equipment. This board is paper, adhesive and string. A composition statement for the adhesive and the paper base can be supplied instead.
