GOLDEN-CAT Cockroach Glue Traps are flat, foldable adhesive boards for detecting and delimiting cockroach activity in kitchens, storage areas, utility rooms and basements. They contain no insecticide, which makes them usable in accounts where chemical application is restricted. GOLDEN-CAT has made adhesive pest control products in Dalian since 1984, alongside Mouse Glue Traps, insect glue traps and insecticide gels.
A glue trap catches cockroaches that walk onto the adhesive. Its value depends on placement height, service interval and whether the catch is recorded and acted on. A board placed at the wrong height or inspected irregularly produces data that cannot be interpreted.

Species do not share the same walking height. A floor-only grid will under-sample brown-banded cockroach.
| Species or zone | Height | Note |
| German cockroach | Floor level, wall-floor junctions, cabinet corners, under sinks | Long edge tight to the vertical surface. Not in the open floor center. |
| Brown-banded cockroach | Elevated: shelf undersides, wall-mounted equipment, upper cabinets | Include at least one elevated trap per room in the layout. |
| American and Oriental | Floor level near drains, pipe penetrations, basement walls | Place near moisture sources. |
The entry lip must stand clear of the floor. A lip that touches the floor lets cockroaches walk over the trap instead of into it.
| Interior perimeter spacing | 6 to 12 m between devices as a starting grid; tighten in areas with confirmed activity |
| Exit and entry doors | Within about 2 m of both sides of each outside door |
| Inspection interval | Weekly during active monitoring; monthly minimum for exterior devices |
| Replacement | About every 6 weeks, or sooner if the glue is covered, dusty or wet |
| Record keeping | Number each trap, map its position, record catch by trap at each visit |
A rising catch across the grid indicates a rising population. A single high catch points to a nearby source. Species on the board should be identified, not only counted. Nymph catch suggests a breeding harborage close by.
| Format | Primary target | Distinction |
| Cockroach Glue Trap | German, Oriental, American, brown-banded | Low-profile fold, sloped entry, glue area sized for crawling insects |
| Mouse Glue Traps | House mouse, juvenile rats | Larger glue area and heavier board for a rodent foot. Not designed for cockroach entry height. |
| Insect Glue Trap | Spiders, silverfish, crickets, beetles | Broad-spectrum crawling insect capture. Often placed flat. |
| Moth Glue Trap | Pantry and clothes moths | Species-specific lure and landing surface. Will not catch cockroach at a useful rate. |
Match the format to the monitoring question. Catch data from a board designed for a different pest cannot be converted into a cockroach activity index.
A glue trap catches cockroaches that walk onto it. It does not reduce a harborage population inside a wall void or motor housing. In heavy infestations the glue surface can be covered before the service interval. A board that is full, dusty or wet should be replaced, not left in place. Glue traps do not substitute for sanitation and harborage reduction.
Floor level along wall edges and under sinks covers German cockroach and the larger peridomestic species. If brown-banded cockroach is present, add elevated traps on shelf undersides and upper cabinet interiors. Keep the entry lip clear of the floor by about 6 to 10 mm.
Weekly during active monitoring, monthly minimum for exterior devices. Replace about every 6 weeks in dry conditions, or sooner if the glue is covered, dusty or wet. Record catch by trap number and location.
Evidence is mixed. Some studies report increased catch with aggregation pheromone; others find no detectable effect. Sex pheromone can be strongly attractive to adult males of a specific species, but it is not a general cockroach lure. A food-mimic attractant is more consistent for perimeter monitoring. Placement in the travel path matters more than the lure.
The catch data will not be comparable. A Mouse Glue Trap has a larger glue area and heavier board stock intended for a rodent foot. Use the cockroach board for cockroach, the insect glue trap for general crawling insect monitoring and the moth trap for stored-product moths.
Yes. Custom board dimensions, glue areas, attractant configurations and packaging are available against minimum order quantities. Board size and entry geometry affect catch performance, so confirm the target species and placement profile before finalising a custom specification.
