GOLDEN-CAT 2.5% Imidacloprid Cockroach Bait Gel is a ready-to-use gel bait for structural cockroach control, supplied in a syringe with a narrow applicator tip. The 2.5% imidacloprid formulation is intended for placement of small gel deposits into cracks, crevices and other concealed harborage areas where cockroach activity has been confirmed by inspection.
Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide that acts on the insect nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. In bait form, efficacy depends on two factors that the applicator can influence directly: whether the gel is placed close enough to active harborages for cockroaches to encounter it during normal foraging, and whether the deposit remains palatable long enough to be consumed.

Bait placement decisions depend on which species is present. The four species listed above differ in size and preferred microhabitat, and a single placement strategy does not perform equally across all four.
| Species | Adult body length, approx. | Field note relevant to bait placement |
| Blattella germanica (German) | 10 to 16 mm | Smallest of the four. Harbors in tight cracks near warmth and moisture, such as appliance motors, cabinet hinges and pipe penetrations. Gel deposits should be correspondingly small and placed into the crack itself, not on adjacent exposed surfaces. |
| Periplaneta americana (American) | 28 to 44 mm | Larger species. Often associated with floor drains, basements and sewer-connected areas. Placement should target harborages at floor level and near moisture sources. |
| Blatta orientalis (Oriental) | 20 to 27 mm | Prefers cooler, damp locations such as basements, crawl spaces and areas around drains. Less likely to climb smooth vertical surfaces than German cockroach. |
| Supella longipalpa (Brown-banded) | 10 to 15 mm | Often harbors higher in rooms than German cockroach, including picture rails, furniture undersides and ceiling fixtures. Placement should include elevated locations. |
Size ranges are compiled from standard morphological references for adult specimens. If species identity is uncertain, the pattern and coloration of the pronotum, the shield-like plate behind the head, provides a practical field character. German cockroach adults have two dark longitudinal stripes on a lighter pronotum. American cockroach adults show a pale, often yellowish, marginal ring on an otherwise dark reddish-brown pronotum. Oriental cockroach adults are uniformly dark brown to black, with reduced wings in the female.

The following parameters are drawn from published pest control practice guidance for gel bait cockroach control. They are presented as starting points for professional judgment, not as a substitute for on-site inspection.
| Parameter | Guidance |
| Deposit size per point | Approximately 0.05 to 0.1 g, comparable to a grain of rice or a small mung bean. Larger deposits are not more effective and are more likely to run, dry unevenly or be avoided. |
| Interval between points | 20 to 30 cm in light to moderate infestations. In low-density monitoring placements, spacing may be widened to 0.5 to 1 m. In heavy infestations, points may be placed at closer intervals where harborages are dense. |
| Points per 10 g of gel | Approximately 40 to 50 points, depending on deposit size and surface texture. |
| Surfaces to avoid | Greasy or oily surfaces where gel may not adhere; surfaces above 40°C where gel may degrade or run; recently sprayed surfaces where repellent residues may reduce acceptance. |
| Placement locations | Cracks and crevices at cabinet hinges, behind and under appliances near motors, along pipe penetrations, under sinks, and in corners of shelves or drawers where inspection has confirmed activity. |
| Re-inspection interval | Every 7 to 14 days during active treatment. Replenish consumed deposits. Remove and replace deposits that have dried, hardened or become covered in dust or grease. |
| Maximum applications per point | Do not reapply to the same point more than four times during a single treatment cycle. Rotate to fresh points if bait uptake continues. |
· Apply small gel deposits, approximately 0.05 to 0.1 g each, into cracks, crevices and confirmed harborages.
· Focus on areas near water sources, food sources and warm locations.
· Place deposits along baseboards, behind appliances, under sinks and in cabinet corners where activity has been confirmed.
· For heavy infestations, increase the number of application points rather than increasing deposit size.
· Avoid applying gel to surfaces recently treated with repellent insecticides.
· Reapply as gel is consumed or dries out.
· Follow all label directions and local regulations.
Imidacloprid bait performance is not uniform across all field populations. Published bioassay data on German cockroach field strains show a wide range of performance indices for imidacloprid gel baits. Some populations exhibit reduced susceptibility after repeated exposure, while others remain fully susceptible. This variability is relevant to treatment design in two concrete ways.
First, if a site has a documented history of repeated imidacloprid bait use and cockroach activity has not declined as expected after a correctly placed and maintained application, the formulation should not be assumed to be the limiting factor. Resistance monitoring, or a practical trial comparing bait uptake at fresh points against a small untreated control area, can help distinguish between a placement or acceptance problem and a reduced-susceptibility problem.
Second, alternation or rotation with a bait containing a different active ingredient mode of action is a recognized resistance management practice. The decision to rotate should be based on treatment history and, where available, bioassay or monitoring data, not on a fixed calendar schedule. This product should be used as one component of an integrated program that includes harborage reduction and sanitation, not as a standalone repeated treatment.

Imidacloprid is toxic to bees and other pollinating insects. This product is formulated for structural cockroach control and is not intended for outdoor, agricultural or foliar use. Where any outdoor application is contemplated, applicable labels in several jurisdictions prohibit application while bees are foraging and restrict application until flowering is complete and petals have fallen. Contracted pollinator services may require advance notification before application. Applicators must consult the specific national or state label for the exact pollinator protection language that governs the intended use site.

Gel bait relies on voluntary consumption and secondary transfer. It does not deposit a residual film on surfaces. This means efficacy depends heavily on placement accuracy and continued palatability. A spray may kill cockroaches that contact treated surfaces, but it can also leave repellent residues that reduce bait acceptance if the two are used in the same area without an appropriate interval. If a spray has been applied, allow the treated surface to dry and, where label directions permit, wait at least one week before placing gel bait in or adjacent to that area.
For German cockroach, deposits of approximately 0.05 to 0.1 g, roughly the size of a grain of rice to a small mung bean, placed at 20 to 30 cm intervals in cracks and crevices near confirmed harborages are a commonly referenced starting point. Larger deposits are not more effective. They increase the chance of the gel running, drying unevenly or being avoided. In low-density situations, spacing may be widened to 0.5 to 1 m for monitoring purposes.
Inspect at 7 to 14 day intervals during active treatment. Replenish deposits that have been consumed. Remove and replace deposits that have dried, hardened, become coated in grease or dust, or show no signs of feeding after a period in which cockroach activity was confirmed nearby. Do not reapply to the same physical point more than four times in a single treatment cycle. Use fresh points instead.
The formulation is low-odor and is intended for crack-and-crevice placement, which is the standard approach for gel bait use in food handling environments. However, use in food handling areas is governed by the label in the destination market and by applicable food safety regulations. The product must not be applied to food contact surfaces. The buyer or applicator is responsible for confirming that the intended placement is consistent with the local label and the facility food safety plan.
Each shipment is accompanied by a Safety Data Sheet and a Certificate of Analysis for the batch. The SDS covers hazard identification, first aid, handling and storage, and disposal. The COA documents active ingredient content and relevant quality parameters for the batch supplied. These documents are intended to support the buyer internal hazard communication and quality records. They do not replace the requirement to verify local registration or import eligibility.
Yes. Imidacloprid is subject to use restrictions in multiple jurisdictions, and the specific restrictions vary by country and, in federal systems, by state or province. Restrictions may address outdoor application timing, proximity to flowering crops, notification of beekeepers or registration status for specific use sites. Buyers are responsible for verifying that the intended import and use of this product is permitted under the regulations that apply at the destination.
Yes. OEM and ODM are available for professional pest control distributors and brand owners. Custom syringe fill sizes, labeling and packaging formats can be discussed against minimum order quantities. Private label does not alter the buyer responsibility to ensure that the label and claims used in the destination market are compliant with local regulatory requirements.
Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture when the syringe remains sealed and is stored in a cool, dry place below 40°C. Store in the original container, locked, and separated from food, feed and water sources. Do not use product that has been frozen or exposed to prolonged high temperature. Reapply or replace product that has dried or hardened after opening.
